One morning I could not find my elderly (18 at the time) terrier. I searched everywhere, hour after hour. I never, ever, ever, let me dogs go outside of their 8'chainlink pen, or be in the house, so if they are missing, unless some freak thing happens, I should be able to find them quickly. Well, I coudln't find Teddie. I called my lawyer friend over to help me look because 4 eyes are better than one, and we both could not find him. We drove the neighborhood in case by some freak thing he got out, with no luck. What on earth could have happened to him? After about two more hours of agony, looking, relooking, and relooking again, inside and outside, I finally put my hand under his doghouse, and felt him. I pulled him out, and his eyes were going (zigzagging) from left to right. I knew he had had a massive stroke, and simply could not respond to me. Not to worry, though, he still would have two more strokes, before dying of old age at nineteen years of age. On his deathbed, he still had the terrier response to one of the other dogs that came too near him. As he was dying, he still let out a warning bark when they came too close to him. I could not ask for more, since G_d had given him to me for such a long, long, long life. Teddie was one of the happiest dogs that ever lived. He had this look that you could see him with a white scarf around his neck, a black beret, and maybe a nautical shirt on, driving in a car, if he wasn't a dog, and he would be the perfect bon vivant. Everybody pictures this little, mixed breed white terrier like that. When I named him Teddy, I was considering another name for him at the same time, but chose Teddy. The name I was considering for him was Kevin. Well, guess what, my next door neighbor Marie was still alive at that time, and she said, what did you decide to call him Carol-I think you should call him Kevin! I said what! Marie, you won't believe it, that's one of the names I was gonna call him. Now, how many Kevin dogs do you know? Weird, huh! Blessings, Carol
