We Were Talking Dogs

June 20, 2008 / by scottishlassie

My boss, my boss' son, and I were talking dogs this morning.  I had been thinking of an incident last night that was so unique.  I had a terrier that was barking incessantly, late in the afternoon, and I couldn't make Teddy shut up. By the way, Tedboy, lived to be nineteen years old and died of old age. Anyway, every butterfly that flew by he seemed to decide to bark at this particular afternoon.  Well, I tried cajoling, I tried admonishing, he yawned, and then kept on barking, as it were. So, my wolf stood up, walked over to his cage, and gave one loud, gutteral bark. He immediately shut up, and did not bark, even once, the rest of the evening until the next day. Man, did that show me something. She was in all ways, the leader of the pack.  I miss her so. Blessings, Carol

When my friend, cousin and nemesis, Toby the Jack Russell Terrorist, won't stop barking, I step on her.  Since I weigh 5 times what she does, it usually does the trick.

That's ever so cute laffytaffythedog.  I have a rat terrier Truffles, and she surely gives me a run for my money. The thing I must watch out for is she watching me like a fox, and when she misbehaviours I have to turn my head because it is more than I can do to not laugh or smile with her antics.  They were bred not to back down, and they sure don't.  She gets happy and tears around the kitchen, between, around, and under everything to make my pit bull chase her, and I have to watch the little show very carefully.  She doesn't realize what is what! Tell Toby that Truffles in Augusta GA says Hello! Later, Carol
